FAQs
What happens after the initial conversation?
Since the initial conversation is primarily focused on listening to you and learning about your needs, the next step is a Readiness Review, where you’ll learn more about the TAU program you’re interested in.
After the Readiness Review, we’ll complete cohort placement, enrollment, and payment.
What happens after I enroll?
Weeks 1-3 (Remote). Your TAU engagement begins three weeks before your in-person intensive. During those first three weeks, you can participate remotely from wherever you are. You’ll complete activities on your own schedule.
During major holiday periods, while no in-person activities are conducted, preparation activities will continue remotely on your own schedule.
In-person intensive. Your in-person intensive then begins on the published in-person date(s). At that point, you’ll need to be at the in-person location—currently Austin, Texas—for the duration of your intensive.
Do I need to tell my employer I am participating?
No. TAU is an independent professional development program. Employer involvement is not required.
Will I have to discuss my workplace situation with the group?
No. Personal disclosure and group sharing are not required.
Do I need to be athletic or have outdoor experience?
No. No athletic or “hiking” experience is required. TAU is not an adventure or ropes course.
Why don’t you show photos of TAU participants?
Because TAU is a private experience, and we treat participation with discretion. We do not photograph participants for marketing or ask them to publicly identify themselves as participants. When we share participant “I caught myself” stories, they are presented anonymously by role or title. If someone chooses to share their own participation publicly through their own channels, that choice belongs entirely to them.
Is TAU only for people on a Performance Improvement Plan?
No. TAU is for any professional who wants to navigate the Heat of the Moment more successfully.
Is this anger management?
No. TAU is a human performance program designed for what happens in the Heat of the Moment.
Is TAU emotional intelligence training?
It’s closely related, but we work earlier. Emotional intelligence helps you recognize and manage what’s happening and choose how you want to respond. But in the Heat of the Moment, automatic reaction can happen before you’re able to use any of that. TAU works on that transition—helping you catch yourself in time to use the emotional intelligence you already have.
Once I enroll, can I change to another program date or cancel my enrollment?
Yes, but fees may apply. Please review our Cancellation & Deferral Policy for complete details.
